UFO spotters called to Roswell
30 May 2006

Fifty-nine years after the supposed UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico, visitors from around the world and beyond are being called to the town.

The Roswell 2006 UFO festival takes place 30 June to 3 July with concerts, debates on the existence of extraterrestrials and UFO abductions, a street market and an intergalactic costume contest.

Last year's festival - organised by Roswell's International UFO Museum and Research Centre - brought thousands of people to the town to look up at the stars, discuss serious issues and party.

UFOs and the TV series about teenage aliens living in the town have helped to put the small town of Roswell on the map.

However, besides the chance of an out-of-this world experience, local attractions include some of the world's deepest and largest underground caverns, state parks that feature bottomless lakes, canyons, forests and dinosaur tracks, and desert nights that provide almost unrivalled views of the stars.
