BA to debut at Nottingham
07 June 2006

British Airways is to launch its first flights from Nottingham East Midlands Airport (NEMA).

From October the airline under the banner of BA Connect will fly three times weekly to Tenerife South.

Penny Coates, NEMA managing director, said: 'The announcement today marks a really exciting milestone in the airport's history the first time British Airways has ever operated from the Castle Donington site and a great endorsement of our service.

'We are always looking to increase the choice of destinations for people in the Midlands and develop the range of facilities on offer.'

The new destination is a shift for BA Connect, not only by choosing a new airport.

Traditionally the airline has been based in Birmingham and offered just short break and business destinations.

Despite the expansion to fly more holidaymakers, the airline claims that it will offer the same levels of service as it does to current destinations.
