World Cup at 30,000ft
08 June 2006
Passengers on Emirates flights will be able to see all the games of the World Cup from their seats.
The airline has brought the rights to show full games on its planes although the drama of watching a live game will be lost as only the previous day's matches will be shown.
However, fans will be able to keep up to date with the action in Germany from the first game on Friday (9 June) to the final.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, of Emirates, explained: 'While each match is being played we will also send a goal-by-goal update to each aircraft, which we know will be appreciated by our passengers who want to keep up with the tournament as it happens.'
At half time and full time of all the games, passengers will also be able to read news reports, so they know exactly what is happening wherever they are.
Emirates will also set up screens in 16 airports around the world so the games can be enjoyed before and after flights.
