Jagger buys Caribbean home
15 June 2006

Sir Mick Jagger has bought a holiday home in the Caribbean.

The Rolling Stones frontman spent £2.2m on a two-bedroom villa on the island of Mustique.

However, the area won't be much of a surprise for Sir Mick as he already owns the house next door.

Mustique has earned itself the reputation for being one of the most exclusive places in the world and a hideaway for the globe's rich and famous, by showing off the best of what the Caribbean has to offer.

The 1,400-acre island is surrounded by white sandy beaches and there is just one resort and 89 private villas.

Sir Mick's neighbours on the former pirates' island include Bill Gates, David Bowie and Tommy Hilfiger, although most celebrity residents rent out their villas while they are away.

However, life isn't so good for the stars on the island.

A source told the Daily Mirror that the beach by Sir Mick's new purchase suffers from a major flea problem in the late afternoon.
