007 shoots into Venice
23 June 2006

The new James Bond Daniel Craig has been in Venice with Casino Royale co-star Eva Green shooting the final scenes of the film.

The pair, with the film crew, where in the Italian city to make some of the romantic scenes for the film, taking a boat ride, with Craig at the helm, down the Grand Canal.

The stars also stopped off at some of the city's major sights, including the Bridge of Sighs.

Following the precedent set by previous bond films, locations spanning the world have been chosen to add spice to the film.

The film has taken its stars to Prague, the Bahamas and Italy's Lake Como and the Casino Royale of the film's title is supposed to be in Montenegro, although a Czech hotel in the spa town of Karlovy Vary was used instead of a Balkan resort.

Scenes will also been shot in Eton College's cricket pavilion, which will be a return for Bond as in the Ian Fleming books he was supposed to have been expelled from the school as a teenager.

However, the pavilion will be dressed up as a more exotic location, proving not all the destinations Bond will head to will be quite so far away.
