KLM to codeshare with Delta
20 July 2006
Travellers on KLM and Delta airlines can look forward to increased travel options thanks to the announcement of a new codesharing agreement between the two carriers.
The two SkyTeam members start their new agreement today from the carriers' Amsterdam and Atlanta hubs.
KLM intends to codeshare on 14 Delta flights from Atlanta, including those to Hawaii, Kansas City and Miami as well as on Delta's service to New York JFK.
In return, Delta will share codes with KLM on ten of the Dutch carrier's flights, including those to Warsaw, Oslo, Nuremberg and Birmingham and intends to increase this number over the coming months.
Glen Hauenstein, Delta's executive vice president of Network Planning and Revenue Management, commented: 'This gives our customers even greater flexibility and options as KLM serves many unique destinations and offers strong connection opportunities that support our expanding trans-Atlantic network.'
Customers who use KLM's or Delta's frequent flyer programmes can currently earn miles on all flights taken on the other carrier.
