Price leads flights
21 July 2006

The airlines and airports passengers choose are largely set by price, a new study has found.

Market research firm Key Note revealed that the cost of a flight is most likely to determine where travellers fly from over airport services on offer, distance to the airport or times of flights, reports TravelMole.

The increase in the number of holidaymakers booking online has led to greater price sensitivity, as people are able to shop around and compare prices far more conveniently.

One in five travellers in the survey stated price was the most important factor when opting for a flight.

The second most common reason for choosing a flight was convenience of an airport, followed by the time of a flight, in-flight comfort and facilities on offer.

It was also revealed 45.5% of the adult population of the UK had taken at least one flight in the last year.
