Cancun finishes rebuilding second miracle

The resort town of Cancun has been fully rebuilt after the damage caused by Hurricane Wilma in October last year.
The speed at which Mexican authorities and businesses have reconstructed the resort has been described by the Quintana Roo state governor as a 'second miracle', reports El Financiero newspaper.
When Cancun first developed as a tourist destination it was known as 'the Mexican miracle' for the cash and investment it brought to the area, now the miracle has been repeated.
In the months following Wilma, around £800m was invested in the area with hotels being redeveloped and the beaches extended to twice their original length.
Clemencia Wise, of Cancun Visitors Bureau in the UK, said: 'It's looking fantastic.'
She also described how 6,000 new palm trees have been brought in from other regions of Mexico and the roads have all been replaced.
'It is like everything is new, but with the same people working there with the same service as before. A unique combination.'
She added that the hotels that have yet to open were being delayed by major redevelopment projects.
