Cork opens new terminal
01 August 2006

Cork Airport has opened its new terminal to passengers.

It is hoped the £70m development will eventually allow up to 5m travellers to use the airport each year doubling the number of people that fly from the city.

The new terminal offers 30 check-in desks and a series of cafes and restaurants.

Initially the new terminal will only be open to incoming passengers, although over the coming weeks this will be extended to those flying in and out of the city.

Expansion at the airport has been lead by the introduction of a number of new destinations including Amsterdam, Faro, London Heathrow and Madrid from Aer Lingus, and Birmingham, Durham Tees Valley and Manchester from bmi.
