Free child travel to Heathrow
02 August 2006
Children heading to Heathrow this summer are being offered free travel by train.
The Heathrow Connect train service is offering free travel to children aged under 16 with a fare-paying adult for the service between London Paddington and Heathrow.
The trains on the service have all recently be fitted with air conditioning keeping people cool before they set off to warmer climes.
'Keeping our trains at a cool 21 degrees means our passengers only have to put up with steamy temperatures if they're flying off to a tropical island,' said Connect spokesman Dave Wornham.
Holidaymakers taking the train to Heathrow before jetting off can also head to the airport from central London by the Heathrow Express, which departs from Paddington, and by taking the Piccadilly Line on the London Underground - although due to current work buses replace trains for Terminal 4.
