Armed police take on Gucci flight delay
02 August 2006
Armed police were called on to a flight this week after a woman refused to put her Gucci bag away.
On a Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong to Tokyo, a passenger refused to put her handbag either in the space under the seat or in the overhead cabin.
The flight was delayed an hour as the woman remonstrated with the cabin crew and eventually armed police were called to remove her from the plane, reports Apple Daily.
However, she held firm and only when the police threatened to arrest her did she agree to leave the plane.
Other passengers applauded as the women was led off the aircraft along with four friends.
She reportedly shouted: 'It's not my fault, it was them who were too stubborn.'
A Cathay Pacific spokeswoman told Apple Daily: 'We had to seek help from the authorities.'
The party, including the woman who valued her designer bag over holding up others, were allowed on a later flight and no further upsets were noted.
