BA to entertain on-demand
04 August 2006

British Airways (BA) is to provide on-demand entertainment on all flights.

The airline has announced a two-year programme to upgrade its entire fleet so passengers will to use technology to watch or listen to whatever they want whenever they want from TV shows to interactive games along with the usual inflight movie.

The first plane to be fitted with the technology will fly on the Heathrow to Detroit service.

Passengers will be able to make their choices by using an onscreen menu.

However, BA will not be offering internet access on board as yet but the entertainment upgrade programme does put the airline on level terms with other airlines such as Virgin Atlantic and Singapore Airlines which already have such systems in place.
