London City Dutch flights up by third
04 August 2006

VLM Airlines is to increase its number of flights to Amsterdam from London City Airport by a third.

From September, the airline will have nine daily weekday services from the Docklands airport to the Dutch capital.

Saturdays will see two flights and the airline will provide a single service on Sundays.

David Nye, Regional Manager UK for VLM Airlines explained the increase in the number of services was due too increased demand.

'Since we commenced services to Amsterdam in April 2005, we have seen a steady growth in demand for our flights, especially from business travellers who appreciate our short check-in times and excellent on-time performance. For the first six months of 2006, our on-time performance was 91.6%,' he said.

VLM Airlines is now the carrier with the largest number of flights from London City Airport and offers nine destinations around the UK and Europe.
