Monarch extends online check-in
18 August 2006
Monarch is to extend its online check- in service from Manchester to Birmingham.
The service will allow passengers to reduce their time at the airport by checking in up to 24 hours in advance via the airline's website.
Online check-in can be used by all passengers with pre-allocated seats and those without pre-allocated seats or who wish to have extra legroom can pay a fee to ensure they have the space they want.
The service was launched in Birmingham this week and in Manchester last month.
Tim Jeans, of Monarch, said: 'The launch of online check-in in Manchester last month has proved to be a huge success, with up to 20 per cent of passengers already using the service.
'The introduction of online check-in in Birmingham will speed up the check-in process for a large number of our passengers and we look forward to rolling the service out across our London bases in the coming months.'
Passengers travelling with only hand luggage will be able to use the service at home and then head directly to the departure gate, while a fast bag drop desk has been established for those with more baggage.
