Flybe invests £500m in new environmentally friendly aircraft

Flybe has become the first airline in the world to have the new Embraer 195 aeroplane.
The airline has ordered 26 of the planes and took delivery of the first at a special ceremony near Sao Paulo in Brazil.
Embraer 195 has been singled out for its superior fuel efficiency and the makers claim it will 'burn significantly less fuel and release fewer emissions per passenger than any other similar sized aircraft'.
Flybe claims the planes will use 20 per cent less fuel than the aircraft they are replacing.
Flybe chairman and chief executive Jim French said: 'The Embraer 195 is perfectly matched to the routes we fly, and with the Bombardier Q400s we have already purchased, will give us one of the youngest and most efficient aircraft fleets in the industry.'
The first new plane will start its service from Birmingham International Airport later this year.
