World Travel Market opens door to China
12 September 2006
This year's annual World Travel Market event in London is to host a day of discussions into bilateral tourism relations between China and Europe.
The conference, called China The Future of Travel, will be held on 6 November, the first day of the World Travel Market (WTM) at London's ExCel exhibition centre.
The purpose of an entire day focused on tourism relations with China is to bring together government and industry players from both regions.
WTM's managing director Fiona Jeffery said: 'This conference is crucial to professionals wanting to gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities and how to go about conducting business with the Chinese.'
China is set to become the world's top tourist destination and major source market by 2020, but organisers point out that much of its tourism sector remains a mystery to European industry insiders.
