Virgin Atlantic voted best Business Class airline
12 September 2006
Virgin Atlantic clinched two of the top awards for air travel at an awards ceremony yesterday.
The airline won the awards for Best Business Class and Best Premium Economy at this year's Business Traveller Awards.
Virgin Atlantic chief Steve Ridgway said: 'We are delighted that Business Traveller readers have recognised us in this way.
'These awards show that Virgin Atlantic's innovative products, in Upper Class and Premium Economy, are the clear favourites for long-haul travellers.'
Readers drew attention to the Virgin Upper Class seating and sleeping arrangement that provides a separate armchair and bed, rather than a less comfortable combination of a seat, which then becomes a bed.
Virgin Atlantic is no stranger to innovation; it was the first airline to introduce a premium economy service in 1992 and this still offers the most room for passengers out of any airline.
