Young holiday makers told to chill
27 September 2006

Travellers in their twenties are being urged to take follow the example of those over 50 and relax.

A poll found 50 per cent more Brits under 24 feel stressed on holiday than those over the age of 55.

Mike Hall, chief executive of Standard Life Healthcare, which carried out the poll, said: "The key to a relaxed holiday is to plan in advance and allow yourself access to basic health and wellbeing information that will make your holiday more beneficial."

Other tips for younger holidaymakers to unwind include breathing exercises and trying to be active and exercise.

The desire for everything to be perfect on holiday is also strong, so people are advised to relax and remember on holiday there are very few deadlines that have to be met.

This is the example set by older holiday makers, as 50 per cent had a relaxed attitude to stress, choosing to simply ignore it and hope any problems go away.
