Top skiing destinations named
29 September 2006
A new poll by Opodo has revealed the top snowboarding and skiing destinations for the coming season.
The survey reveals Chamonix and Val d'Isere in the French Alps are the top two destinations for winter sports in the world.
The top five is completed by the Heavenly resort by Lake Tahoe, the Three Valleys in France and Austria's Kitzbuhel.
Other resorts to make the top ten were St Anton, in Austria; Tignes, in France; Andorra's Arinsal; Bormio, in Italy: and the Swiss Crans Montana.
What drives skiers and snowboarders up the wall was also uncovered by the research.
Half of boarders complained about bright one-piece suits skiers wear and a third were irked by skiers' supposed sneering superiority.
Meanwhile, skiers were most peeved by their habit of stopping mid-slope for photos as they try to catch some 'big air' and by their penchant for being obsessed by fashion.
