Edinburgh's text message trial
02 October 2006
Edinburgh Airport is launching a new text message service designed to make passengers' lives a bit easier.
People travelling to and from the airport will be able to send a text message with any queries they may have and will receive a quick reply.
The service will deal with questions relating to transport connections, hotel information and a number of other useful areas.
Passengers' enquiries will be received by a team of experts who will find the answers and pass them on as quickly as possible at a charge of £1.
Questions such as 'What hotels are close to Edinburgh Airport?' should be sent to 64BAA (64222) and it is hoped that if the trial is successful the service will become a permanent fixture.
'64BAA is a unique and exciting service, which Edinburgh Airport is pleased to be able to offer passengers through this trial,' the airport's managing director, Richard Jeffrey, told Internet Travel News.
Initially the service will run for two months and it is hoped that pressure on information desks and phone lines will be eased as a result.
