Ecuador hotel is awarded

The Royal Palm Hotel Galapagos has been voted Ecuador's leading resort.
The hotel received the distinction at this year's World Travel Awards which were hosted in the Turks & Caicos on 20th September.
A large number of tourism professionals and the world's media attended the event, with awards given to hotels and resorts around the globe.
In total, 167,000 travel professionals voted for the awards and Ecuador's hotels were rated highly.
As well as taking the award for Ecuador's leading resort, the Royal Palm Hotel Galapagos was also nominated for the category of leading hotel in South America.
Ecuador is fast becoming a popular holiday destination and many travellers choose to visit the country around Christmas time.
The Ecuadorians celebrate the festive period with a huge party, known as Pase del Nino Viajero, which takes place on Christmas Eve.
The centrepiece of the celebrations is a procession through the city of Cuenca.
