Barbados receives AAA
12 October 2006
Hotels and restaurants in Barbados will soon be awarded an American Automobile Association (AAA) diamond rating.
As of January 2007, tourists in the country will be able to make a more informed choice on the places they stay and eat as the system is introduced.
It is all part of an effort from local tourism officials to improve hospitality in Barbados and the rating system is known across the world for its reliable judgements.
Hotels and restaurants of all sizes will be rated, while a number of the larger properties are expected to be granted the honour of receiving the hallmark five-star rating.
Establishments in Barbados are already graded by the Zagat Barbados Guide which was launched in September and the introduction of the AAA diamond rating is seen as another step towards greater hospitality in the country.
