China prepares for Olympic tourism

An agreement between the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and the Beijing Municipal Tourism Bureau (BMTB) has been signed.
It focuses on efforts to work in conjunction when it comes to promoting tourism during the Olympic Games in 2008.
The two cities agreed to support each other in promoting themselves to tourists in the build up to the games beginning now.
'We take the huge market potential and business opportunities brought by the Olympics seriously,' said chair of the HKTB Selina Chow.
As well as supporting each other in terms of attracting tourists, both Hong Kong and Beijing have also agreed to share extend their backing to financial services, technology and the creative and cultural industries.
A number of jobs and business opportunities have already been created as a result of the games and China is expecting to witness a large influx of foreign visitors.
