Guide to the River Thames
24 November 2006
Tourists taking a city break in London are not benefiting enough from the River Thames, according to the producers of a new guide.
Silver Fleet, which is a cruise company, and Visit London have come together to produce a guide which aims to dispel the derogatory myths about the famous river.
It is hoped that by producing the guide, which has been backed by mayor Ken Livingstone, more tourists will be able to benefit from some of the fantastic places that are dotted along the Thames.
'The river is very under utilised at the moment because of the poor perception that event planners have,' Natasha Carr, head of sales at Silver Fleet, told CIT Magazine.
'The aim is to include a wide variety of venues that can be used to hold events on and around the river,' she added.
Silver Fleet and Visit London plan to launch the guide, which includes sites from Greenwich to Richmond, in February.
