Singapore's first garden festival
28 November 2006
Green-fingered travellers who are considering a holiday in Singapore will be glad to hear that the country is hosting its first ever garden festival.
The Singapore Garden Festival will house some of the world's top florists, as well as many flower and garden enthusiasts.
Kicking off on 16 December and ending on 25 December, the festival organisers are hopeful that their event will become prominent on the international stage.
It will be held at the Suntec City Convention Centre and will include a number of big competitions, including an overall Best in Show award.
Visitors will also be treated to a chance to receive an education in any part of gardening or flower arrangement that they could wish for, while children will also be entertained with workshops.
A Festival marketplace will be set up, so that the fantastic flowers and plants which are put on display during the festival can be bought afterwards.
