Undiscovered destinations show
14 December 2006

An array of unusual and undiscovered holiday destinations are to be put on display at the 13th annual Destinations Show in London.

Newcomers to the arena include the Taiwan Tourism Bureau and Colombia Tourism, both of which will be attempting to lure holidaymakers.

The idea behind the event is to offer inspiration to travellers who are seeking a holiday with a difference and are no longer content to simply sit on the beach for two weeks.

Among the holidays of interest are activities such as visiting former KGB sites in Russia and visiting bears in Alaska.

As travellers' appetites for adventurous holidays grow, awareness of the environment is becoming a more critical issue.

In response to this, the event will have the largest Responsible Travel area the show has ever seen.

'Destinations delivers the world's best kept secrets, as well as old favourite destinations,' said Chris Gallon, the show director.

'[It] provides a true reflection of independent travellers' desires, covering everything from weekend or career breaks to long haul trips and eco travel.

'Mixed with fascinating talks and world entertainment, visitors' imaginations are filled with travel ideas,' he added.
