Wedding bells could soon be in the air for Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, with rumours suggesting her fiance is planning to propose.

Coyle has been in a relationship with Jesse Metcalfe, who stars in John Tucker Must Die and Desperate Housewives, for some time.

The couple are said to have hit a rocky patch recently, with both stars struggling with the long-distance relationship.

Metcalfe lives in America, while Coyle is in Britain when not touring with Girls Aloud.

The pair split from each other in November 2006 due to the strains of living so far apart, but are now back together and it looks as though Metcalfe is planning a romantic proposal.

The actor was spotted window shopping for engagement rings before booking a luxury break in Dubai.

'He wants to make up to Nadine, so he's booked a five-star hotel and has made sure they can spend some quality time together - just the two of them,' a pal of Metcalfe's told newspaper the People.

If Coyle and Metcalfe do get hitched, the Irish singer will become the second member of Girls Aloud to wed, after Cheryl Tweedy married England footballer Ashley Cole.
