Borat's media-shy star Sacha Baron-Cohen has been spotted enjoying a luxury holiday with long-term girlfriend Isla Fisher in Bangkok.

The pair are reportedly staying in the Oriental Hotel and are spending their time relaxing before throwing themselves back into the world of showbiz and films.

Funny-man Cohen must have been in desperate need of a holiday following reports that playing the eccentric Kazakhstan journalist was "exhausting".

"I had to be that way all day and all night, because even if the tiniest detail had gone awry, it could've made them suspicious. I mean, even if I went to the bathroom, I had to make sure I went to the bathroom as Borat," the 35-year-old said.

Local newspaper, the Bangkok recorder has expressed the hope that the location's interesting culture will inspire Cohen to write a new film script.

It stated: "Let's hope that Thailand's soap opera politics and other wonderful absurdities inspire the actor to return here with a film crew in tow."
