Hong Kong prepares for Chinese New Year
16 January 2007
Chinese New Year is to be given the Disney treatment as Hong Kong Disneyland prepares to usher in the Year of the Pig.
Mickey Mouse, Goofy and other great Disney characters will be on hand for the festivities.
Families are invited to attend designated Special Days at the theme park between 17 February and 24 February.
During this time the park will remain open later and a number of cast members will be on hand to answer questions in a number of languages, including English and Cantonese.
Hong Kong comes to life during the New Year celebrations, with huge flower markets, night parades, fireworks and sporting events making up just some of the activities on offer.
The actual Chinese New Year celebrations run from 12 February to 21 February, meaning holidaymakers have plenty of time to enjoy the colourful and musical celebrations.
