19 January 2007
Australia is gearing up for the Sydney Royal Easter Show, with over one million tourists expected to attend.
The show begins in April, but tourism officials in the city are trying to get the message out as early as possible, to ensure a truly international attendance.
Since 1823 the show has been taking place and attracting many people
"Autumn is the perfect time of year to visit Sydney with a range of over 80 events, including the Royal Easter Show," said Tourism New South Wales executive director and general manager John O'Neill.
"Combine this with the backdrop of the world's most stunning harbour, perfect weather and a plethora of dining and shopping, and you will see why there's no place in the world like Sydney."
The event lasts for two weeks, between 5 April and 18 April, and includes dare-devil stunts, extreme carnival rides, cultural celebrations and lots and lots of food.
