Sting learns Salsa in Cuba
22 January 2007

Sting has been spotted enjoying some dance lessons during a holiday in Cuba.

The former Police front man has been taking lessons in Latin dance from an expert at the National Folkloric Ensemble (NFE).

Since arriving in Havana on 17 January, Sting has regularly attended Afro-Cuban dance lessons at the NFE as well as taking separate Salsa classes at the National Ballet School.

The 56-year-old looked years younger than his true age, as he wore dark jeans and a grey t-shirt following his lessons.

He paused on his way from the dance class to sign autographs for fans and take photographs of the city's beautiful surroundings.

Learning to dance Cuban style during a holiday in Havana is not a pastime reserved only for the rich and famous.

The city is famous for its sense of rhythm and many tourists flock to the region in order to learn how to dance Salsa and then put their new skills to the test in any one of Havana's many bars and clubs.

As well as the party hotspots, Havana is famous for its stretch of beautiful beaches, which are positioned alongside the Via Blanca highway to the east of the city.
