Celebrity Big Brother's Jade Goody says that she is planning a trip to India.

Goody caused international outrage during her time on the British TV show when she was viewed to have made racist remarks to Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty.

Comments made by the 25-year-old, which were aired on Britain's Channel Four, sparked protests in India and led to a potential diplomatic situation between India and the UK.

Tony Blair was forced to field questions on the incident, as was chancellor of the exchequer Gordon Brown, who was on an official visit to India at the time.

Now Goody says that she wants to visit Shetty's homeland in a bid to prove that she is not a racist and calm the feelings of anger towards her.

The Indian High Commission ran a full-page advertisement in the Independent newspaper, inviting Goody to visit the country in order to experience its 'healing nature'.

If the celebrity does make the trip to India, she is likely to be shown around some of the nation's cultural offerings.

The Taj Mahal, Humanyan's Tomb and Old Goa are among some of the cultural sights and sites that India has to offer.
