UK to be hit by heavy snow
07 February 2007
People travelling to and from the UK on 7, 8 and 9 February are being warned that severe weather is likely to hit the country.
However, passengers are being reassured that their journeys should not be affected by the predicted snow blizzards.
Up to seven inches of snow is expected to fall across the UK, with local transport networks likely to suffer severe disruption.
The reassurance over the effect the weather will have on flights comes from BAA, which runs a number of the UK's major hubs, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
'No disruption whatsoever is expected at any BAA airports,' said a spokesman for the firm.
Despite BAA telling passengers not to expect disruption, there is still concern among many that flights will be halted and chaos may ensue.
Passengers are advised to contact their airline or BAA for further details on specific flights.
