Genesis to Turn It On Again in Rome
13 February 2007

Genesis are to perform a free gig in Rome as part of their 'Turn It On Again' tour.

The 14 July concert, which will be ticket-free event running on a first come first served basis, is expected to draw 40,000 fans.

Genesis band-members Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford are rescheduling two tour dates in Austria and the Czech Republic in order to fit in the Rome date.

The show is part of the first Genesis tour to have taken place in 15 years. The run will kick off in Helsinki on 11 June.

The Circo Massimo venue, which was expanded in ancient times by Julius Caesar, has hosted many big events before, including Live8 on 5 July 2005.

700,000 Romans also gathered there last year to celebrate the Italian World Cup victory.
Italy's capital city has around 3m inhabitants.

The city boasts the legendary 'genesis' of having been founded by the twins Romulus and Remus on April 21, 753 BC.
