bmi links Aberdeen and Brussels
14 February 2007
Airline bmi has announced a new international route, which will see the Scottish city of Aberdeen linked to Brussels in Belgium.
It will be a non-stop flight between the two major cities and will provide an afternoon link, making the flight convenient for most travellers.
Due to begin service on 16 April, the new flight will help Scotland in its bid to improve links between its airports and other major cities.
'We have long felt there was a need for a link between Aberdeen and Brussels, two of Europe's most important financial and commercial centres, and we welcome this commitment from bmi regional,' said Kevin Brown, managing director at the hub.
'This new route is an important addition to Aberdeen's European route network and gives the city direct access to one of Europe's most dynamic and cultural, capital cities.'
The route will be served by modern Embraer aircraft, with bmi offering business and economy fairs.
Civil Aviation Authority statistics recently named bmi as the UK's most punctual airline.
