Terminal 5 will have a Tiffany's
19 February 2007
Heathrow Terminal Five continues to expand its impressive retail options, with the news that legendary jewellery brand Tiffany & Co will be opening a store there.
Forever immortalised in the film Breakfast at Tiffany's, the firm's decision to launch a flagship store at Terminal Five is a huge coup for airport owners BAA.
The store will be the first Tiffany & Co airport boutique in Europe and goes a long way to helping BAA fulfil its promise of changing the face of airport shopping.
Much of the new store will be based on the famous New York flagship store, with the emphasis firmly being on reflecting the history of the famous company.
'We are really excited to be working with Tiffany & Co. It is an iconic brand, coveted throughout the world. I can't wait to see the store open,' said Nick Ziebland, BAA's retail director for Terminal Five.
'Tiffany delights everyone who visits, however much they have to spend. Once again, as with the signing of Gordon Ramsay amongst others, Terminal Five is clearly creating an experience that goes way beyond traditional airport retailing.'
The new terminal is due to open in March 2008 and is set to become a new landmark for London.
It has so far cost around £4.3bn to develop and is one of Europe's largest construction projects.
