Marley family to open Bahaman resort
28 February 2007

People visiting the Bahamas will soon be able to stay at the new Marley Resort and Spa.

The resort is to be opened on the island of Nassau and will include 16 luxury suites, offering visitors an artistic, historical and spiritual experience.

It is due to be opened on 1 June this year by the Marley family - descendents of the legendary musician Bob Marley.

The location of the resort is steeped in history itself, having once been a governor's mansion before catching the eye of Bob's wife Rita Marley.

Rita is said to have fallen in love upon seeing the hideaway and bought it, leading to the Marley family spending many happy holidays there.

'So many people celebrate my father's music and see that his message is prolific and still relevant today,' said Bob's daughter Stephanie Marley.

'They keep his spirit alive. In return, we are inspired to share our piece of paradise here in a place we once called home.'

The Marley Resort and Spa is positioned on the less-travelled section of the beautiful Cable Beach and is perfect for a quiet getaway.

Each suite at the resort has been based on the theme of a Bob Marley song and the resort is awash with many luxurious extras.
