Aquatic wildlife fans will be delighted to hear that Deep Sea World in Scotland has received a prestigious award.

The centre has been presented with the Gold Leaf Award from VisitScotland's Green Tourism Business Scheme, reports the Scotsman.

Deep Sea World is home to a number of fascinating animals from sharks to seals and has long been popular among tourists and locals alike.

'We're all absolutely delighted,' said Deep Sea World's general manager Nigel Burnett.

'Encouraging sustainable practices ensures the continued enjoyment of the environment for future generations.'
