Rail link for Korean airports
09 March 2007
Officials in South Korea have revealed that the country's Incheon International Airport Railroad, known as A'REX, will begin operating this month.
The railway will connect Incheon International airport with Seoul Train Station, making the 61-kilometre journey a lot easier for visitors and locals.
A'REX will also link other airports with Incheon and when it first opens, on 23 March, it will only run between the Gimpo and Incheon hubs.
Authorities say that there will be two different types of service, with an express and commuter train travelling the route with different journey times.
The express route will run direct between the two airports, taking 28 minutes to complete the route.
The commuter service will stop at every station along the way and will add an additional five minutes to the journey time.
Once A'REX opens it will mean holidaymakers will have a quick and simple link to Incheon International airport, Incheon International airport Cargo Terminal, Unseo, Geomam, Gyeyang and Gimpo airport.
