Sylvester Stallone in drugs charge
13 March 2007

Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone has been charged with importing illegal growth hormones following a holiday in Australia.

The 60-year-old is said to have been found with 48 vials of the hormone in his luggage as he passed through customs in February.

Stallone, who returned to the silver screen this year as Rocky Balboa, could face up to five years behind bars if convicted.

It is perhaps more likely that he will be forced to pay a fine of around £44,000.

The actor was allowed to return to the US following the discovery of the vials and is now believed to be in Thailand were he is completing his movie comeback by filming the fourth Rambo film.

His case in Australia has been adjourned until 24 April when Stallone's plea will be entered to the courts.
