Emirates upgrades luxury lounges
14 March 2007

Premium passengers with Dubai-based Emirates airline passing through its Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok airports have updated luxury lounges to look forward to.

The Malaysia and Thailand airports, which serve 19 and nine Emirates flights weekly each, will now feature the lounges known to patrons of the Emirates offering at London Heathrow, New York JFK, and Sydney, to name a few.

The lounges, which will each accommodate over 100 passengers, will boast three spaces designed to satisfy passengers in different frames of mind from the business centre with Wi-Fi internet connectivity, through the dining room with hot and cold buffet, to the relaxing lounge area with widescreen TV.

'The Emirates Lounges allow us to provide our customers with a consistent, high-quality Emirates experience both on the ground and in the air,' Richard Vaughan, senior vice president of commercial operations in East Asia & Australasia, commented as he opened the lounge in Bangkok.

The lounge phase is intended to round out the Emirates experience, matching the level of service passengers expect on board the planes and during their chauffeur-driven ride from hotel to airport.

Emirates connects to over 80 destinations worldwide from its hub in Dubai.
