Men need teddy to bear lonely nights
15 March 2007

Men may believe that they are the stronger sex but research shows that most are really quite soft at heart.

Hotel chain Travelodge has carried out a study into the sleeping habits of its customers and found that men are far more likely to cuddle up to a teddy bear while sleeping alone.

Around 20 per cent of those asked said that they take a bear to bed with them while staying in a hotel, while only 15 per cent of women said the same.

The majority of people asked said that they liked to have a cuddle before bed, with 63 per cent revealing that they struggle to get to sleep without one.

Women appear to take more extreme measures to compensate for a night away from their partner however, with eight per cent saying that they spray their pillow with the scent of their lover when sleeping alone - just three per cent of men do the same.

The survey also found that Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp are considered to be the ideal people to share a hotel bed with.
