Air passenger urinates in sick bag
19 March 2007
An airline in America has apologised to a passenger after he was forced to relive himself in a sick-bag during a flight.
James Whipple said that he was refused entry to the onboard lavatory during a one-hour flight between Idaho and Salt Lake City in the US.
Mr Whipple claims to have drunk two 'really big beers' before getting onto the flight and soon needed to use the loo.
However, he was told by air stewards that it was off-limits because the light inside was broken.
Growing ever more desperate, Mr Whipple eventually reached for sick-bag and appeared to get away with.
That was until a steward asked him about it and reported him to the captain. His reaction was to call airport police at Salt Lake City, who questioned Mr Whipple before releasing him.
SkyWest Airlines has since apologised for not providing a lavatory on the flight and has sent Mr Whipple some airline vouchers in a bid to make amends.
'For such a short flight, we really felt we were trying to inconvenience the least number of passengers possible by operating that flight,' Sabrena Suite-Mangum, spokesperson for the airline, told the Salt Lake Tribune.
