The Simpsons has a theme park ride
25 April 2007
Fans of long-running animated series The Simpsons will be delighted to hear that everybody's favourite family now have their own theme park ride.
Universal's theme parks will soon be graced with the new ride, which commentators are calling the most eagerly anticipated in the world.
The theme park operator promises that those who take part in the Simpsons experience will not be disappointed as they go on a ride with Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie alongside them.
Due to be launched in 2008 at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, the ride has been described as a 'hysterical, almost unimaginable adventure'.
'The ride is designed to duplicate the Simpsons home-viewing experience, only at high speed and with lots of screaming,' said Simspons creator Matt Groening who worked closely with the Universal team behind the ride.
Riders will enjoy a trip through the unseen side of the Simpsons' home town Springfield as they explore a fantasy amusement park which has been dreamed up by character Krusty the Clown and the ride is expected to be a huge hit.
'With its unique sense of humour and enormous popularity, The Simpsons is a perfect complement to our brand of entertainment,' said Tom Williams, chairman of Universal Parks and Resorts.
