Proposal at zero-gravity
08 May 2007
It is hard to keep a good man down and Alexander Loucopoulos is certainly a very good man in Graciela Asturias' eyes.
The 32-year old from New York was enjoying a zero-gravity plane journey with his girlfriend when he surprised her by popping the question.
The couple were on a 90-minute journey aboard a Boeing 727 and Mr Loucopoulos thought it would be a very special time to ask his lover to marry him.
'I asked if she'd marry me and then the ring just floated in front of her as we floated in zero gravity,' he told the Associated Press.
Ms Asturias did not hesitate in saying yes and said that she was "so surprised" and in "total shock" following the proposal.
However, although Mr Loucopoulos was confident that his girlfriend would accept his offer, he did have another fear.
'I was afraid the ring would float really far away,' he revealed.
