Stars and battlefields in South Africa

Tourists interested in the stars and battles of days gone by could be in for a treat if they head to South Africa this year.
Isandlwana Lodge is hosting a Guns and Galaxies weekend in August which will satisfy the needs of historians and star gazers alike.
Astronomer Terry Leaver will be on hand to share his tales and knowledge of the stars and will guide visitors as they look to the heavens.
Isandlwana is just right for star gazing as there is no light pollution there at all, meaning that there is an endless number of stars to look at.
Once they have had their fill of what lies above them, tourists will be invited to concentrate on what sits below them.
They will be taken on a fascinating tour of the battlefields which saw Anglo-Zulu and Anglo-Boar wars.
