A380 continues tour
23 May 2007

The Airbus A380 superjumbo is preparing to embark on another tour to the Asia Pacific.

The world's biggest commercial airliner is taking part in a series of demonstration tours as it prepares to become a common sight in our skies.

It will set off for Japan on 4 June, following airport trials at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport and will also visit Australia and Taiwan.

The A380's tour is all part of the process of preparing it for life as a commercial jet and time will be taken to see how compatible it is with the airports in the countries that it visits.

Airbus says that the plane has already landed in 45 airports around the world and claims that over 70 international hubs will be ready to receive the aircraft by 2011.

Following a period of troubles for Airbus and the A380, the firm says that everything is back on track, with deliveries to Singapore Airlines, Emirates Airlines and Qantas all said to be going to schedule.
