Virgin has Heathrow plans
31 May 2007
Virgin Atlantic is promising to outdo Heathrow's new Terminal Five when renovation work at the hub's Terminal Three (T3) is complete.
The carrier has been working closely with BAA and the terminal's designers to create a space that will make life easier for passengers when checking in.
Virgin promises that its check in area will be wider, brighter and more spacious, with the focus being on making the whole experience more efficient and stress-free.
It will also include a new Drive Thru Check In for its Upper Class passengers which will allow them to be chauffeur driven to the heart of the terminal with minimum fuss.
The newly updated T3 is due to be completed by the end of this year, meaning passengers will be able to benefit from the new services months before the much-publicised opening of Terminal Five in March 2008.
'The new T3 will provide a unique Virgin experience for our passengers. From check in through to their departure gate, they will have a fast, efficient and stress-free journey, which will relax them for the start of their trip and save them precious time at the airport,' said Steve Ridgway, Virgin Atlantic's chief executive.
'We estimate that it will take the majority of our passengers under 15 minutes to check in and get through to the Departure lounge and even less time for our Upper Class passengers to get to the Clubhouse.'
