Hong Kong Shopping Festival
06 June 2007
Shopping and Hong Kong go together like love and marriage and to celebrate this, the province is launching the 2007 Hong Kong Shopping Festival.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is behind the event which will run for two months this summer.
Support from traders has been exceptional, meaning that anyone who visits Hong Kong during the festival will be overwhelmed by the number of special offers that are available to choose from.
The HKTB is providing tourists with shopping guides, which includes recommendations for shopping, dining and sightseeing.
The 2007 Hong Kong Shopping Festival is the sixth of its kind and those involved believe that it will be the largest and most popular ever.
'Over the past years, our festival has gained tremendous support from the retail, catering and tourism-related sectors,' said Lambert Chan, general manager of destination marketing of the HKTB.
'This year, the HKTB has also enlisted the participation of a new partner from the transportation sector MTR Corporation to boost visitors' spending.'
Some of Hong Kong's major attractions, including Hong Kong Disneyland, Ngong Ping 360 and Ocean Park Hong Kong will be handing out special offers for tourists.
The 2007 Hong Kong Shopping Festival takes place between 30 June and 31 August.
