Malta will become 'Isle of MTV' this summer

Music lovers searching for that perfect summer festival experience will find sun, sand and some of the industry's brightest stars at the Isle of MTV festival, which will take place on the Mediterranean island of Malta this July.
More than 20,000 music aficionados are expected to descend upon the tiny island to see Enrique Iglesias, Maroon 5, Akon and Malta's very own Ira Losco plus an accompaniment of musicians and DJs take to the stage.
The free musical extravaganza will take place at Fossos Square in Floriana, just outside the capital of Valetta, on 26 July.
'We're thrilled to be able to present Isle of MTV as part of Europe's summer music calendar,' said Richard Godfrey, of MTV Networks International.
'MTV is uniquely positioned to offer MTV audiences exclusive access to the world's biggest artists and the impressive raft of A-list artists who will take to the stage in Valletta is no exception.
'We are looking forward to working with our Maltese partners to showcase the charming capital city,' he concluded.
